New Florida facility supports strategic growth plans in both the specialty film and window film markets
Madico®, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of Lintec USA Holdings, Inc. and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of technologically advanced laminates and window films, today announced the purchase of a new facility in Pinellas Park, Fla., 10 miles Northwest from its current St. Petersburg location. This facility will serve as the manufacturer’s new world headquarters.
The $30 million capital investment includes a quarter million square-foot manufacturing facility, which is nearly three times larger than Madico’s current St. Petersburg operation, relocating existing equipment from both the St. Petersburg and Woburn, Mass. locations, and purchasing new, state-of-the-art coating and laminating equipment. The additional space and new equipment will provide additional capacity and capabilities, supporting new product development efforts and unlocking new opportunities in four core areas of the Window Film market: architectural, automotive, safety/security and decorative, as well as the five key markets within the Specialty Films area: Aerospace, Transportation, Healthcare, Information Display and Building materials.
“Investing in a new facility with greater capacity supports Madico’s long-term growth plans and expands our capabilities so we can serve more customer segments,” said Madico President Shawn Kitchell. “Lintec is clearly demonstrating its commitment to the Madico business and its confidence in the growth of the markets we serve.”
With more than 20 acres at the new headquarters at 9251 Belcher Road in Pinellas Park, Madico now has the room to expand operations even further in future years. The new location boasts 53,000 square feet of office space, 460 parking spaces for employees and easy access to nearby airports, interstate and rail service.
Madico will move all manufacturing operations – including equipment and resources – from their facilities in St. Petersburg and Woburn, Mass. to the new facility throughout 2018. The move will be managed in a manner that will not impact product manufacturing, service or delivery to Madico’s customer base.
