A Window Film Dealer's Playbook to Maximizing Facebook's Lead Generation Tools

Promote your business with Facebook!

Aug 4, 2015

If you’re using Facebook to build your window film business, you’re not alone. What started as an easy way to connect with friends and family has morphed into a social media platform with tremendous ability to attract customers and increase profits.

What are the benefits of Facebook? What are the best Facebook tools for business? (Hint: One is a free tool called Facebook Business Manager.) And how can you use Facebook branding to your advantage?

Whether your window film business is large or small, promoting your business on Facebook can have a big impact on your success – especially when you do it the right way. Madico is here to help you take your Facebook marketing efforts to the next level.

What Are the Benefits of Facebook?

Perhaps the greatest benefit of Facebook and other social media platforms is that they allow you to target specific audiences and advertise to them in a cost-efficient way. You can even enter direct conversations with them through comments, reactions, or messages – usually without spending a dime.

A major benefit of Facebook specifically is its size. Despite competition from Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and others, Facebook remains the world’s largest social media platform. Nearly 3 billion people around the world use Facebook. And of those, 2 billion visit the platform every day.

Think of your Facebook page as a 24/7 ad for your business, giving you daily opportunities to engage with current and potential customers. Below you will find a list of tools that can help you do it.

Creating a Facebook Page for Your Business

Before we get into the best Facebook tools for business, we need to start with the basics: creating your Facebook page.

Creating a Facebook page for your business is different than creating a personal profile. In fact, it’s against Facebook’s Terms of Service to use a personal account to represent a business. You can follow these step-by-step instructions to create your Facebook business page.

Once you create your business page, Facebook will randomly assign it a number and URL (for example: facebook.com/pages/yourbusinessname/123456789). To make your page easier to find and share, be sure to create a vanity URL instead (such as facebook.com/yourbusinessname).

Next, add a great cover photo, a recognizable profile picture (such as your business logo), and descriptive content for your About section, which is often the first place that visitors look when they arrive on a business page. Be sure to include your hours and invite them to contact your business directly.

There’s also a preview of the About section on the left side of your page. You only have a few sentences to give visitors a sense of what your business is all about, so make them count! Now you’re ready to start sharing content.

The Best Facebook Tools for Business

Start Conversations With Posts

Frequent posts are an ideal way to update current and potential customers about your business, including new product launches, promotions, and before-and-after comparisons. Include photos or videos whenever you can to help your posts stand out. Some businesses hire posting services to create posts for them (such as Sprout Social or Loomly), but you can always do it yourself for free. If so, Canva offers many free Facebook post templates.

Boost Your Posts

Make your posts even more effective by boosting them. Simply make a post as you normally would, click on the blue Boost Post button, and then choose your audience and budget. Boosting a post costs a minimum of $5, but it will appear higher for anyone who “likes” or “follows” your page. It may also reach people who haven’t done so yet, but are part of your target audience.

Use Relevant Hashtags

When you add hashtags to your posts, it creates a clickable link where visitors can explore all related content for that hashtag – think #windowfilm, #windowtint, #tintedwindow, #madico (if you offer Madico products), and the like. Using hashtags can also help people discover your business when they search for hashtags that interest them.

Add a Call to Action Button

Facebook gives you the option to add a Call to Action button to your page. The button can send visitors directly to your website to shop, book an appointment, etc. If you don’t have a website and are a Madico window film dealer, you can link directly to your page on the Madico Dealer Directory – another benefit of partnering with us.

Go Live to Showcase Your Products and Services

As a business owner, you can go Facebook Live on your computer (if it has a webcam) or even your phone. Once you have an idea for a live video (such as introducing a new product or taking a behind-the-scenes look at your business), promote it by creating an event on Facebook and inviting people to tune in. Be sure to post reminders before the event as well.

Express Yourself With Facebook Stories

Many businesses use Facebook Stories to express their creativity, share information, and attract customers. With Facebook Stories, you can do things like announce special promotions, introduce your employees, and more. Like live videos, Facebook Stories give visitors an inside view of your business and engage them in new ways.

Get Closer to Customers with Facebook Groups

Creating groups within your Facebook business page lets you connect with customers and have meaningful conversations in a private forum. Ideally, you’ll learn more about what they want from your business, what excites them (and what doesn’t), and what encourages them to keep coming back.

Run a Facebook Contest

Running a Facebook contest is a fun way to attract visitors to your page and increase brand awareness. Keep in mind that contests can’t be hosted through Facebook – they can only be promoted there. You must use a third-party app to create your Facebook contest (such as Shortstack or Pagemodo) and then direct visitors to the app from your Facebook page.

Reach the Right People with Personalized Ads

Advertising on Facebook doesn’t have to be expensive, and there are millions of small and medium-sized businesses that use Facebook’s personalized ad tools. When you can reach the people who are most likely to be interested in your products and services, it helps you make the most of your advertising budget – however limited it may be. Explore your paid advertising options with Ads Manager, Facebook’s all-in-one tool for creating and managing ads.

Create a Facebook Business Manager Account

Facebook Business Manager is a free tool that helps you organize and manage multiple Facebook pages and advertising accounts in one place. If you wish, you can grant full or partial access to other employees based on their roles. You will need a personal profile to create a Facebook Business Manager account, and you can only create two accounts at most.
