Company Name: Extreme Tint & Polish

Owner: Rest Tiglao

Location: Santa Clara, California

Rest Tiglao, owner of Extreme Tint & Polish in Santa Clara, California, got his start in the business while living in Australia. He was taught to install both architectural and automotive film, but found his passion was automotive tint.

In 1993, Rest moved to the United States and started working for Extreme Tint & Polish. Soon after Rest found himself to be both the installer and owner of the shop. Since purchasing the shop from the original owners, Rest has grown the business into the premier tint shop in the area, specializing in luxury vehicles and servicing a variety of automotive dealerships in Santa Clara County.

Since his early days in Australia, Rest has been an avid user of Madico films. “It’s the best product we’ve used. We’ve never really had problems with any Madico products. We’ve tried others and the quality is not comparable to Madico” said Rest. “I trained on Madico film when I first got started in the business and so it was only natural to continue to use Madico film when I opened my own shop.”

In 1997, Rest’s daughter, Vess Jimenez, moved to California and started helping Rest in the shop after school and on the weekends, along with her two sisters. Rest discovered that he spent a lot of time and money training new installers, only to lose them a short while later. He asked Vess if she would like to train to become one of his installers and she now works alongside her dad full time!

Due to Extreme Tint & Polish’s incredible customer service and installation skills, the shop has developed an extremely loyal customer base, with the majority being repeat customers. The most interesting install the shop has done was a Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion (a driverless car), which is still a prototype. Rest recalls, “It was an honor and a privilege to be asked to install window film on this incredible car. With seats that faced each other and no steering wheel, it was an interesting experience to take a ride in it!”

In addition to working together, Rest and Vess have competed side-by-side in numerous Window Film Conference & Tint-Off events. They first got involved when WFCT was hosted in Reno, after that they were quickly hooked on the thrill of the competitions and have been back every year since. They enjoy the opportunity to meet other installers, trade tips and tricks and of course, compete!
