(00:01) [Applause] [Music] okay imagine for a moment that I'm an electrician I've just finished at a job site be it a home or a commercial building of some sort my clients very happy and asks hey do you know a good window film installer me being an electrician I say well as a matter of fact I do because this is a chance for me to please the client even more by facilitating a high-quality solution for the client while saving the client a ton of effort in the process better yet if you're a good window film installer and had made an effort to

(00:39) reach out to people like me remember I'm an electrician there's a good chance that you're the one who will get the referral from me rather than the other window film dealer down the road who hasn't made the effort and assuming you get asked for referrals about other trades let's say you asked for the name of a good electrician who do you think they're going to refer you to well yours truly of course this is how it works it's called simple word-of-mouth and it's probably one of the most effective

(01:07) and overlooked sources of new business it costs you nothing out of pocket save for a little of your time and maybe some business cards once you've been around the block a few times you're going to form relationships with electricians construction workers automotive tax plumbers you name it once you have a good rapport discuss the possibility of reciprocal referrals with these people assuming you have full faith in the quality of work and business ethics of the people you approach and that they do in you no one wants to refer someone

(01:37) with bad reputations so let's recap you have three jobs to do periodically discuss referrals with your contacts on a job site or over a phone call make a referral whenever you can and let your contact know you've made a referral now they may not get the referral but at least they know you're trying and consider periodic emails as another way to reach out to your referral partners and keep it casual no one likes to be asked for a favor too often consider how often you'd be comfortable getting asked

(02:07) by a particular person for a referral and base your efforts on that form or matakohe you recommendations about the biz of making referrals download the content that accompanies this video [Music]
